Hannah, at age 10, lived just north of Boston when she worked this 18th century American sampler. It has a three-sided
border and a solidly stitched bottom section. She is giving us a little reminder to not procrastinate (Life
is wasting. Death is hasting.)
She was born to Joshua Pickard and his second wife Susannah Northend. Complete genealogy information accompanies
this sampler.
The condition is excellent except for a very few missing black stitches in the inscription.
Silk on linen; 18" x 14" framed.
