Catherine, while in her early teens, worked this charming silk embroidered picture depicting a well dressed
gentleman observing a humble young lady tending her sheep near a thatched roof cottage. There are several stories
in English literature that this scene could represent.
Catherine Elinora Frederickson (1798 - 1868) was the daughter of Godfrey Frederickson and Christiana Catherine
Hester of Philadelphia and was married to George Savitz (from North Carolina) in 1816. They lived in Philadelphia
and had four children.
