This exquisite silk embroidered coat of arms was worked at the Misses Pattens' School in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Olcotts were a prominent family in Hartford and the original frame and overall design is vertically identical
to other coats of arms worked at Misses Pattens' School.

Note: Attached to the back of the stretcher as a backing is a newspaper from Albany, NY dated June 6, 1807.
