Sampler by Hannah Vail An outstanding Belmont County, Ohio sampler in exceptional condition with bright colors and full conservation mounting, frame is new. This wonderful needlework sampler is quite similar to Lousia Vanlaw's sampler featured in Sue Studebaker's book, Ohio is My Dwelling Place, page 192. Hannah Vale married Lowsia's uncle George Vanlaw. There is a very small area of loss at the bottom center edge. Silk on linen; 17 1/2 x 17 2/1 inches sight. Sold
