Antique sampler by BETSEY SAWYER Newbury, MA dated 1798 This charming sampler was most likley worked at Ann Water's School in Newbury, MA. Betsey was born August 24, 1785 and worked this sampler at age 13. It shares several characteristics with other Newbury samplers, note the parrot at lower left, the border, and the verse.
