This is a rare example of an early Philadelphia tea cloth used as a decorative
small mat to be placed under a tea pot. The needlework is very intricate with small animals, flowers and vines.
The cut and drawn work called "Dresden work" exhibited in the round flower heads is fragile and difficult
to execute. They are rarely found in pristine condition due to their daily use.
