Mary worked this sampler at age 12 but for some reason never finished it. The sampler is inscribed: Wrought
by Mary H. Brigham/ Born April 27th Aged 12 Yrs/ East Sudbury Sept 26th 1828. She also included a delightful
verse that starts "Life is like a summer's day …".
Mary was the daughter of Col. Ephraim Brigham and his second wife Mary Hubbard. She had twelve brothers and six
sisters and died at age 20 on March 30 1837 in Marlborough, MA.
