Elizabeth Yearsley Westtown Township Chester County, PA dated 1827 This graphic Chester County sampler was worked by Elizabeth Yearsley at age 17, under the tuition of Mary Tayler. Elizabeth married her neighbor William Otley in 1836. Her sister Mary Ann married William Otley's brother Alban. Choose your neighbors wisely, these two sisters married the boys next door. The sampler is inscribed: Elizabeth Yearsleys work in the 17th/ year of her age 1827 and at the bottom, Mary Taylor Teacher. This sampler is accompanied with extensive genealogical research.
