Depicted on this extraordinary mid-17th century needlework picture is the Old Testament story of Abraham and
Isaac, Genesis 22. The picture incorporates raised work, slip work, metallic braid etc, a little bit of everything.
The motifs of lavish flowers, phoenix birds, insects, stag, unicorn, leopard, lion, and within the center cartouche,
Abraham and Isaac all on a silk background are in excellent condition with strong colors. 19 ½" x 23
