Worked at the Mary Balch school in Providence, Cynthia stitched a shaded urn and basket arrangement that is found
on several other needlework pictures from the school. The floral garland with bowtie ribbons is similar to a design
worked at the Misses Pattens' school in Hartford, Connecticut. The stitched inscription is characteristic of the
Illustrated in, Let Virtue Be A Guide To Thee, Betty Ring, page 165.
