Mary Ann McCosh
Mary Ann McCosh, daughter of Samuel and Elisabeth McCosh, worked this sampler in 1834 under the instruction
of Mary Tidball. Four years later Mary Ann was teaching her own students using almost identical motifs and layout
as this sampler. One of the known samplers taught at Mary Anns school was worked by her next door neighbor Abigail
Higbee in 1838.
