Eliza Kemp Antique sampler Philadelphia, PA c.1798 Eliza at age 14 was attending school in Philadelphia when she stitched this graphic sampler. The imagery is very closely related to Catharine Spangler 1799 sampler in the Philadelphia museum and almost identical to Elizabeth Helms 1798 sampler pictured (fig 391) in Girlhood Embroidery by Betty Ring.
