Inscribed: Prudence Jackson her work wrought in the twelfth year of her age A.D 1823. At the bottom the
sampler it is inscribed: W Jackson and F Jackson, likely representing her parents names.
Prudence included a few lines from Alexander Pope's UNIVERSAL PRAYER (published 1738).
This very colorful sampler is pleasing, both in its aesthetics and sentiment.
