Ann Bell worked this beautiful patriotic sampler honoring George Washington in 1826. It is inscribed:
peace love and charity
My handy work my friends may have
When I am dead and in my grave
Which if you should chance to see
May kind rememberance picture me
By Geo. Washington/ great deeds were done
I will twine the rose aro/und thy mouldering tomb

The graphic appeal is enhanced with a central house under a spread eagle with a shield, flanked by a fence, a monument
entwined with roses as well as several paired birds and numerous flowers. It retains its original frame.
