This beautifully worked needlework picture depicts the dynamic Old Testament story, Genesis 19, of Lot and his family leaving the city of Sodom as the whole Jordan Valley, including the cities of Sodom and Gomarrah, were being destroyed. It captures Lot and his two daughters being escorted by two angels away from the burning city of Sodom and toward the small town of Zoar, just after Lot's wife looked back, and was turned into a pillar of salt.

Conservation mounted with UV glass in a modern frame.

Silk on linen; 9" x 14" sight, 12" x 17" framed.
