Lady Elizabeth Gray This beautiful silk embroidery depicts the destitute Elizabeth Gray, widow of Lord John Gray, with her sons
Thomas and Richard pleading with victorious King Edward IV for the restoration of her children's lands. Her graciousness,
downcast looks and mournful beauty not only gained her the conquering Kings attention, but also his heart. His
infatuation was only enhanced by Elizabeth's affections for her deceased husband. Ultimately on Michaelmas day,
1464, Edward IV and Elizabeth were married. STEPHEN & CAROL HUBER |
